Let’s say you are bored of your music collection and want to experiment new genres or just want to find more songs that fit in your desired genre. In such case I resort to online radio stations and there are tons of them. So let’s assume you find a radio station you like and you just let the music jam in the background while you are working. Unexpectedly and out of nowhere you hear this song that you never heard before and you really like it, but shoot the song just finished and you didn’t even get the name of the song down. You just wish the radio would play that song again but you keep listening for days and still nothing!
So to avoid such disappointment and after googling the dilemma, I found an amazing free add-on to Winamp that enables you to record online streams. Not only that but it automatically tags each track and puts it in a folder on your desktop. Is it legal? RIAA might think not, but for ages people have been recording their favourite radio stations, so I say let it be.
First you need to download Winamp. If you don’t already have it (download here). After downloading and installing Winamp, download a program called Streamripper (download). Install Streamripper and restart Winamp. After you restart Winamp you'll find a similar icon to the one in the photo below:
